World Blurs
Heartbeats matching the rhythm of two feet.
Feet pounding against the pavement, its beat.
Rapid breathing is all that fills her ears.
Run through the pain, run through the flowing tears.
Don’t look back, don’t reminisce the dark past.
Keep running and fill your head with lambast.
Doubting all that she ever used to be.
Wondering, “Is this all I’ll ever be?”
Dark shadows chase her as she runs away.
Nothing can save her, trying is mundane.
Running to her only escape; the bridge.
Stones stab into bare skin, unfit to dodge.
Blood drips to pattern the ground behind her
Escape is here, she jumps, the world blurs
