Alarm Clock
“Get up! Get up!” The alarm clock cries
“Not yet! Not yet!” I say
“Get up! Get up!” The alarm clock cries
“It’s time to start the day”
Now wipe the sleep out of your eyes
Now brush it from your mouth
Now comb the sleep out of your hair
Now set it on the shelf
For you to take down in the eve
And hold in blessed rest
‘Til the alarm clock says again
“You’re done! Get up again”
“Get up! Get up!” The alarm clock cries
“Not yet! Not yet!” I groan
“Get up! Get up!” the alarm clock cries
“To leave the comfort of home”

I wrote this poem in a fit of inspiration after getting irrationally angry at my alarm clock. I hope you enjoy!
