Fountain of Youth
Leave not my love although you have left me;
give back your kissing breath – how bittersweet!
Stretching back for years is our pedigree,
I wait infinitely, repel defeat.
But wait and be still, don’t lose this way now
for what you reckon, for what you can guess.
Try to think back and just remember how
we may be something more, if could be less.
Your roses wilted, as love spurned,
but trust in me, my love and truth.
Dwell in my heart from which you’ve turned...
Cannot rely on the Fountain of Youth.
It is in uncertainty you turn away;
do you want to miss the chance of love today?!
