strangers and strangers again

we started out strangers
unaware of each others existence
who knew of the dangers
our future friendship making distance
there we were
from best friends to couple
i was insecure
our friendship was gone, and not supple
so back to friends we tried to be
i wish you understood the way i was feeling
your best friend; i thought i was she
but you have changed so much and still i am healing
you are not the same person as i remember
where's my best friend i lost last December
