Monstrous Love
Why do you love the monster I am?
Who bites at your tongue as we kiss
Who tears down your pride like a battering-ram
Yet you act like nothing’s amiss
Why do you love the monster I am?
When all I do is lie and scam
And yet you treat me with love and care
That of which you shouldn’t share
Why do you love the monster I am?
Is it hope that I will have changed?
Is it pity? Hope? A mindless sham?
To leave me more deranged?
Why do you love the monster that is I,
When all I do is make you cry.
