Waves
The waves waltz upon the glistening field
In endless rhythm, synchronized motion,
Each one contending, refusing to yield.
A game, a tug of war of emotion,
It parallels my heart with every beat
And magnifies in power with the tide.
This battle will not end in mere retreat.
Full force invasion means two will collide.
My gaze turns toward the fading sunlight,
Reminding me of a new day to near.
Memories of the past are burning bright;
It is to your love I always adhere.
The sea is a reminder of our oath
To let this love deepen when meet we both.

I tend to observe commonalities in nature, then write about them in uncommon ways to highlight them. I didn't intend for such a deep message of the bond of love when I began this poem, but the best endings are the unexpected ones.
