The Wedding
They gathered in this house that summer day
From foreign lands and countries far and wide
Like critters of all kinds, all here to stay
Came hoarding to our garden’s sunny side
From Carolina she had traveled in
To hold and marry one of Bansal’s own
To live amongst our flowers and our kin
She called us little heaven far from home
But this old heaven did not run full through
The wine was bitter, tensions always high
And in the grass kept hidden we all knew
The critters whispered there with narrowed eyes
So near the angry looks, around the shade
New family was welcomed, greetings made
