An Ode to the Sun
The sun can kiss me like a blazing fire
Sending heat to my body like a stove
Casting a shine to settle my desire
Of July’s hot summer in hidden grove
How warmth can crawl through broad blood boiling red
As golden streams will push away dark cloud
The burning fire from sky falls to my head
How this invasion draws in such a crowd
My love for this occasion is so clear
As nights that come and steal the sun away
Take light and bliss with them to sky’s frontier
This sun’s a beacon of the hope in a day
And yet the sun has one very cruel defect
When not in shade my pale skin will get wrecked
