If once you were to find yourself walking
Down Memory Lane and talking
To once your best friend
Who is long since dead
You would find it's a ghost you are stalking

The author's comments:
I understand how some people may be confused my the wording of this poem. If you look at it the boring way, it's basically just talking about someone who is experiencing a memory. They see an old friend in this memory but know that that person is dead so they must be talking to a ghost. Or you could see it as someone reminiscing about a lost friendship. So the part about the ghost could just be a way of describing the friendship as dead, gone.
