Over the Bridge
Over the bridge in glowing golden fields,
Over the bridge is the glistening hope of shining faces,
Where dreams dance in the delighted distance
Wouldn't it be easy to walk across the splintering spruce bridge
Enter the world where gleeful birds sing to sunny skies
But too many people crossed over and wore away the weary bridge
Left me behind, the bridge full of hollow holes
While they play in the prairie and laugh in the meadows
a broken bridge connecting reality to relished realms
Here the fields lay shrunken and shriveled curled to a crisp under the cruel dry skies
dim light from the few stars above stretch to reach stone cold grounds
Here there are lips turned down,
demons dancing around damaged deranged
Here is where the people fear, frightened to face my foul world, where crazed beast cackle constantly
Maybe one day i can rebuild that broken bridge
And skip across the grey rain clouds
Run over the barren fields
Dash into the land of joy
Maybe one day
Over the bridge is the glistening hope of my shining face
Over the bridge in glowing golden fields
