Two Eager Cats
They are the only ones who hold me. I am the only who loves them. Two eager cats with soft paws and deep eyes like mine. Two out of the four we saw there. Two jumbled messes of constant love. In my room they sleep, but my sister scowls and says they are annoying.
Their power is secret. They send secret messages through their mind. They walk up and sit down and kiss the space between my teary eyes and bite the world with ferocious teeth and never stop their kissing. This is how they love.
Let one forget his reason for loving, they’d all grieve . Love, love, love they whisper when I weep.
When I am too afraid and too tired to keep loving, when I am a single human against so many faults, then it is I hold the cats. When there is no one left to love in this house. Two who healed despite absence. Two who kiss and do not forget to love. Two whose only reason is to love and be loved.
