sacrifice
it is a slow,
cold death
to love her when she cannot
love herself
but it is one that I
embrace,
tightly, and with gratitude,
because love is
sacrifice
and I must have strength
for two
most importantly,
I must always be
careful
not to place blame
on weary shoulders
(she did not ask
for this)
oh, I wish I could carry
all her doubts and
insecurities
on mine
