Ghosts

there are ghosts in the mirror
they make the house tremble
crawling up like vines
to my window
coiling themselves around my throat
they say,
"i love to see you choke"
and like this i stay alive
for i'll never be alone
the things the whisper
make me blush
they are the angels in the headstones
with broken wings and dirty hearts
tugging at my nightgown
they tell me,
"with God there is no love"
