Insane
You say
Chase the madmen away,
But it’s harder than it seems.
Slay the thought-thriving demons,
You say,
But it’s impossible when dreams
Act as their sanctuary.
Losing my religion,
Breaking down with lack of faith.
Is it better to feel pain
Than nothing at all?
Suddenly, answers don’t matter,
Suddenly madness snatches questions from my lips.
All I can hope to utter is two simple words:
I’m
Sorry.
Hollow and afraid,
No matter how hard I try,
I can’t seem to chase the madmen
Away.
