You ask me of my dreams
But I can’t tell you a single one.
My fingers curl
As if trying to grasp
The smoke around my head
From all my pretty little pipe dreams.
Of course I have dreams!
It’s just…
As of late,
I’ve seen too many
Not broken but bruised
Ridiculed but not rejected.
Bruises are not deep gashes
But my lips are swollen shut from all the punches life dealt me.
So as I heal all’s I ask is
Privacy please.
