Flakes of snow drift
twenty
forty
sixty feet
turning to steel grey ash
beneath the silent steps
of indifferent souls.
Tiny flakes of broken dreams
shifting
shifting
shivering
on barren earth.
Burn like sullen memories
from so many years ago
twisting
turning
falling
finding a place to melt
on the silence of your lips.
