I hate the fact that my heart doesn’t grow,
And I hate the smell of cigarette smoke.
I hate the birds that spread their wings in the sky,
And I hate it when a big heart tells a lie.
I hate it when I have no control,
And I hate the thought of getting too old.
I hate being so far away,
And I hate hearing that everything will be okay.
I hate the sand that holds back the seas,
But most of all I hate not knowing how my life is going to be.

This was a poem I wrote when I was upset about growing up, and a lot of teens are excited to grow up and move out, but it scares me. You don't know what's going to happen in life and that is a scary fact and sometimes I wish that I had wings like birds and could just fly away into the sky without any worries.
