Shanita
You’re beautiful and you don’t need weave like those other girls.
When I look at them and then you it’s like there from another world.
You don’t even need eye liner, lipstick, or any other useless crap
to look better than those other girls at being gorgeous and black.
I like when you laugh, it brings me joy,
Trust me that’s a lot for this one boy.
Every time you smile the oceans and winds dance in your name.
What I’m saying is the truth, and I don’t care if it’s lame.
You’re a strong woman that doesn’t take crap from anyone,
and you still manage to be sweet like morning cinnamon.
You have curves a gay man couldn’t handle,
and you glow like an everlasting candle.
I like how you stand straight and tall so that God can hear you.
Why pray from your knees I wouldn’t want you smelling like mildew.
I see a story in your eyes.
I see a story that won’t die.
A story of a girl who is as loud as 20,000 people talking at once,
and can be quiet and gentle like a Chinese monk.
A girl who is booming with life like New York City,
And can make a mean joke about anyone and won’t show pity.
I have been thinking of you ever since eighth grade,
you never would have guessed then that felt this way.
But my shyness never let me tell you how i feel.
I wondered if you had a spell on me or if this was real.
I’ve always thought how I could ever be with you?
You’re my exact opposite anything I do you don’t do.
You’re loud and I’m not.
You stand up for yourself and i don’t,
You say things with no regret and I won’t.
I still dream about you even after middle school,
And deep down inside I feel like a fool.
I liked that one day when you talked to me,
Did I mention I like your booty? Hahaha
