Lights shine down the street,
A child on a bike,
A women in a car,
Two different lives,
All about to collide,
A slammed brake,
A broken bike,
Screams explode,
Men in uniform cloud the scene,
A mother breaks from her house,
Arguement emerges,
Ambulance's charge through,
The child is loaded on the truck,
A mother in shock,
A women in regret,
They look at each other in pain,
and look away.
