sixteen
At the age of 16 the world was at my feet.
At the age of 16 I gave it my all. 16 years old
and I already know what I want to do with my life.
At the age of 16 I want to be all I can be.
At the age of 16 I see grandpa more and more inside
of me. At the age of 16 I want to make grandpa proud.
All I do is because of grandpa. At the age of 16 I’m adamant
just like him. Adamant for all the right reasons. At the age of 16
I try to hide my missing grandpa in front of everyone. I try to show
That I’m not weak.
At the age of 16 I did things that I thought I never could. Like writing
stories that talked about grandpa so much. At the age of 16 I gave it my all
for grandpa. At the age of 16 I wished that grandparents could live forever.
At the age of 16 I still missed grandpa. And at the age of 16…..I haven’t let the
memory of grandpa disappear.
When I was the age of 8 grandpa told me that the fingerprints we make
don’t disappear from the lives we touch. And at the age of 16 I’m going to
make my fingerprints last forever, just like grandpa. Just like some people have
left their fingerprints on me. At the age of 16 I know what I want to make of myself
At the age of 16 I see the world different than what I use to when I was 15
At the age of 16 I want to leave my fingerprints on people and know that I have
made a difference. At the age of 16 I know that grandpa is watching over me, but
I still miss him. At the age of 16 I haven’t let the memory of grandpa disappear and
never will.
At the age of 16 I want to leave my fingerprints on the world and lives I touch hoping that
I make a difference, just like the people in my life have done.
