To know
It's funny how I never thought
you to be old.
I was always so small.
I would follow you around,
thirsty for a new story,
or a rich fact to be told.
But now as you sit
in that tattered arm chair.
The light hits your face
in the way that the
wrinkles cannot hide.
And my eyes are
such as illuminated.
But no, I never thought
you to be old.
