Fingers drumming, pen clicking.
Checking things off
this list I’ve never made
brings me closer to the end
of the foot-tapping and nail-biting,
eating up my nervous energy.
I’m ready
for it to be out of my hands.
The applications filed, invitations addressed
the dress altered, gown unwrinkled.
Because when it is
