Simply Uncomfortable MAG
Simply (like
opening a new six-colored
pack of sidewalk chalk,
scrawling childlike innocence
onto driveways and sidewalks,
like the sun shining on Sundays,
like everything turning out exactly
how we had hoped and planned,
like you and me when we were at our best).
Uncomfortable (like
your knees after pressing them against
the pavement for too long,
footprints smearing our art,
like too many colors and not enough
talent to use them all,
like how reality is always screwing us
and never helping us,
like you,
and me,
exactly as we are
right now).

It's such a deep poem but to someone who who doesn't read it, it would just seem like you're writing about playing with chalk.
