My 6 year old self
If I met my six year old self today,
What would I tell her,
What should I say?
Would I warn her of the future,
and the worst yet to come?
Or should I let her to run around her school’s playground,
Buckling up her tiny black shoes and nibbling on cheese-strings ?
Because my six year old self,
Believed the world is a perfect place.
Would she recognize herself,
if she looked into my face?
Even though I’ve learned so much more,
And years have passed since then.
There are days when I feel that I want to give up everything I have,
To view life through her eyes again.
