Dreams
Every child has a dream,
whether they wish to walk on the moon,
or compete for their favorite professional sports team.
Sadly, some dreams conclude far too soon.
As the future quickly becomes the present,
high school students must make a decision that will change their life.
Will they decide to chase their dream to be the president,
or work towards a doctorate and wield a surgeon’s knife?
Some students may be prepared to work and earn money,
while others search for a different calling.
Will they decide to follow their buddy
or wait until the last moment and continue stalling?
Eventually their future will find them, wherever they are,
providing a job and family they love to their core.
As the parent’s child tells them about their dream to drive a racecar,
they remember their dream and realize this life is worth far more.
