Longing for Childhood
I wish I was a child again
Running wild and free
Without a care in the world
Without worries, without the weight of the world looking down on me,
Watching my every move
I wish I was a child again
Free to cry without the yelling
Without being told I shouldn't let my emotions run free
Without people looking at me, throwing harsh looks,
Without the words, "you're a big girl" being spoken
I wish I was a child again
Exploring the world, not yearning for love
Not yearning for romance
Merely curious about the world
I wish I was a child again
So I wouldn't feel trapped
Trapped in a world that seeks more of me
Not by building me up, but by tearing me down
