Sadly I'm Happy
I don’t deserve to be happy
Please don’t tell me that
I should be a positive person
When it comes down to it
I’m angry at every single thing
I’m not going to deny myself and say
Deep down I am beyond happy
Know that I will continue to tell myself
I am a horrible, disgusting human
Nobody can ever tell me
I deserve to feel true joy
And whenever I see myself I think
Why do people tell me I should feel this way?

This poem was inspired by the well known poem called Pretty Ugly. I wanted to re-create it with two different yet similar topics to spread an equally powerful message. With this poem, it is all about how the reader sees the world and way they interpret life.
