Closed Door
I felt adventurous
Open the door
You came in
Through the open door
I felt my heart leap
Almost leaping out of the open door
But thank God I keep it on a leash
For I soon had to close the door
Eventually you abused my heart
And every day
My heart would open up to myself
And I would close the door for the sake of secrecy
One day I became so tired of you leaving
Opening and closing the door
That I just shut it myself
Now you stand outside the closed door
I cannot hear your heart through the closed door
But I feel it
I am tired
I cannot open the door
I am wounded
I will not open the door
I am done
I will never open the door
Leave me now
For your presence is exhausting
You are gone
So please
Keep the door closed
Thank you.
