Conquering the Mountains
Whistling in the distance
I think it is a sign
I must conquer the mountains
To find a voice of mine
Home is to my left
The unknown is to my right
Everyday, I wake up here
Hoping to chose the fight
Sunshine and rainbows
Havoc my view
While murky clouds, and foggy nights
Call me to their hue
And one morning I got an itch
That home just couldn’t scratch
I marched myself to the base camp
Sizing up my match
Here I lay, beneath the stars
Thinking, “What a day.”
Of many days to ever come
Today I saw a ray
A ray of glory, fear, and hope
I know I have an uphill battle
But I won’t quit, I’m sure of it
There’s nothing I can’t handle
