Autumn
I see through quiet mist this morn,
The leaves toss and swirl around me,
Dipping and floating on the air,
waiting to fall.
The birds in the trees chirp and caw;
Is it here they will be tomorrow,
when the wind blows?
Let today start slow then begin,
Every moment be prolonged.
My heart, it longs for ou to stay.
Surprise me in your bitter ways,
Begin today at break of dawn.
Continue at the touch of sun.
One I know, the other I don't.
Shield mine eyes with your hand,
Gently color seeps through to me.
Please, slow.
Away they go across the hill,
The tips of grass begin to break.
The ripened fruit begins to rot,
Begin the season, change or not.
