Prayer #64
Why must my emotions
take over me?
Aren't I old enough
to control them?
Lord help me not hurt so,
guide me always.
Let me not succumb to
sin and its ways.
Sin that leads me to do
things against You,
To do things out of spite,
out of anger,
To be upset, to cry,
all from nothing.
The question I ask is
why, dear Lord, why?
I want to grow up, Lord,
to think freely,
To not be overcome
with wretched tears,
But instead laugh with ease,
and praise Your name;
Praise you without restrain,
to be sincere.
I wish to put my strength,
my hope, my life,
All upon You. Oh Lord
Jesus, save me!
I need Your guiding hand.
In the name of
Christ Jesus, my Savior,
amen. Amen.
