I won't hound you for compliments
Like she does
I won't say, "I'm ugly,"
Just to hear you say, "You're beautiful."
I won't stay up until 4 A.M. talking to you
Because my sleep matters more
I won't call you clever
Because I'm not a liar.
So then why does my heart skip
Then trip,
When you say, "Got to go"?
Why do I care?
Why?
