I Can't Get Up
It can’t be morning
Nine is still night
I’m still dreaming
Go away, sunlight
But it’s time to get up
No it can’t be
Alarm clock, shut up
You can’t be talking to me
My eyes are still closed
My body feels like mud
My legs are stuck to it so
I’m officially a bed spud
I’m struggling with strife
At last I bedraggle out of bed
Oh please, it’s not worth my life
My legs are solid led
They’re glumped to the floor
I try to crawl with no energy
Since I’m empty to the core
I can’t do it, don’t you see?
I yawn into the quicksand
Of my sheets and blankets
Onto my pillow I crash-land
Boy that took some sweat
But who would care?
It’s summer on a Saturday
It’s completely fair
Time to hit the hay
