Name Essay
My name. Allyson. In English it means nobility. It is a more unique version of the name Allison. It's like the number 4. Simple, yet complex. Common, yet still meaningful and diverse. It is a name that will resonate with everyone you meet.
A bright color, like a yellow sunflower or a blue ocean. It is vibrant. It is a bright sunny day, in the middle of July. It is that one good thing in your day, that makes the rest of it better. Like eating a good meal, leaving school early, or being on vacation.
It was a name different from my family. My parents wanted something common, with a unique spelling—and they got it. It usually takes multiple times for people to spell it, but at least it isn’t quite basic. My parents wanted to name me Lorraine, but they knew that was too old fashioned.
As a kid, other people always had a difficult time spelling my name. My spelling is far from common. But, The uniqueness brings out the best. It is a little piece of happiness that is rare. It's that compliment that you recieve from a random stranger.
For these reasons, I have never wanted to change my name.
I have never had the nickname Ally, and I intend to keep it that way. Ally is too short, less meaningful, and too girly for my taste. It is a hair clip or a pair of black leggings every girl has. It is too common and bland. It is a stale old piece of bread found in the pantry.
My name has 3 syllables. It is rather simple with a flow. But the depth still remains. It still is a lengthy name, but it feels light. It’s that summer feeling and a relaxing day. It brings out a tone of light into someone's day. It is a peaceful field of sunflowers in the distance .This gives an impression of being free with yourself and just a moment of silence.
