Advocacy Letter
Dear Ms. Rishwain,
Being a teenage female in America, UGG boots are a necessity. They are the most reliable boots I have ever come across, with a long wear-life. They are cozy, and warm, and can handle pretty much any environmental stress.
But, I am writing to you today with regards to a pair I had ordered in November of 2012. At the time, I had just gotten my first job, and I had never owned my own pair of UGGS. With my first paycheck, I wanted to order my pair of boots. Throughout my teenage years, I have witnessed how reliable they were, so I knew I had to have a pair of my own. Unfortunately, my paycheck wasn’t large enough. I asked my parents to help me, but they told me this was a big purchase I had to make on my own. Then I realized I could try and find discount pair. I searched until I found a website called http://www.thehibiscusresort.com/uggformen.php, and I found a pair of UGG Classic Short boots for $97.60. I figured it was too good to be true, so I went on the UGG website to check if it was on the counterfeit list, and it was not. So I figured these boots had to be real. I then ordered the boots. So than a month later they arrived. Once they arrived, I didn’t realize anything was off with the boots. They looked similar to the original boots I had seen.
The boots arrived in a squashed box, but the boots looked okay. Luckily, they were the signature chestnut color, and the label on the back bottom of the boot looked right. But after I compared them with other girls’ boots, I realized mine weren’t real. I was so frustrated that I fell for a counterfeit website. In time, my boots wore down. The heel of the boots smoothed over, and I felt water soak through them. Also, the color changed from a darker chestnut color, to a lighter one. The calf area was also too tight. It became difficult to wear the boots with clothes. Again,in time, the fabric of the boots ripped also. So after all of these disappointments, I was 100% sure they weren’t real.
I know ordering these boots was my own mistake, and I don’t want other people to do the same. I wish for you to put the website where I ordered my boots from on the counterfeit list. I hope that other people will look at the counterfeit list before looking into ordering UGG boots, or order boots off of your website for an authentic pair. Everyone should have the opportunity to wear an incredible pair of boots, that’s well worth the money.
I am currently saving up money to order a new pair of UGG Classic Boots, or the UGG Bailey Button boots in size 7, in the chestnut color. I hope to have enough money soon, so I can enjoy what real UGG boots feel like.
Thank you for your time and consideration of my request. Feel free to contact me at 4******[email protected], or the address listed above.
Sincerely,
Allison Hansen
